Speakers Showcase & Silent Auction
SPEAKER SHOWCASE
Invest in ACPA and the future of our profession! When you bid, you have the opportunity to “win” a presentation or consultation to positively impact your university, staff, students and conferences. The Speakers included in this Showcase are among the most skilled and knowledgeable in their field. They have generously volunteered their talents to support ACPA and the Foundation. Please review the information and guidelines below before making a committed bid – thank you!
Speakers
The list of speakers includes highly regarded experts in their field, authors, and researchers who are willing to speak on your campus, or at a student or professional conference. They have significant experience speaking and training, in addition to their other responsibilities. Full time nationally recognized speakers are also on the list. These individuals bring significant keynoting and training experience. All are published authors and have spoken on hundreds of campuses, as well as, have been featured as national, regional or state conference keynoters. Typical compensation for their keynoting and consulting vary, with services ranging from $2000 - $7000. Speaker bios, presentation topics and contact information are on the Bidding For Good Website.
Time Frame of Service Offered
One hour keynote or up to two hours of a workshop presentation on the same day. Additional time or breakout sessions may be negotiated between the Speaker and the campus. Consultation may also be offered with specific parameters on the duration and topic.
Type of Audience
We encourage bidders to consider generating a strong audience by creating the potential for a multi-school or professional association conference where a diversity of colleges or organizations is present. Single campus events, single staff event appearance events or single conference events can be negotiated in advance, prior to bidding.
Scheduling
All speaking engagements/services are to be scheduled within 12 months of the Convention and payment made to the Foundation upon invoicing directly following the Convention (unless other arrangements are made in advance with the ACPA Foundation Treasurer.) Conversations about availability and scope of the services are encouraged between potential bidders and the speakers in advance of the Convention.
Minimum Starting Bid
$1,250.00 with $250.00 bid increments.
Travel Expenses
All reasonable travel expenses are payable directly to the Speaker as negotiated between institution and Speaker.
Winning Bids
Winning bids will be announced at the Convention Exhibit Hall final session on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
Letter of Agreement
Letter of agreement will be sent to the winning bidder and Speaker following the Convention. All logistical and travel arrangements are made between these two parties.
SILENT AUCTION
Funds generated through the Silent Auction allow the Foundation to better provide additional resources to ACPA for support of research grants and educational program initiatives. We continue to use the online auction platform for the early portion of the Auction with the final bidding taking place at the Convention. The online platform allows increased member involvement and exposure for the donations.
Past items include audio/video or other electronic items, gift cards/certificates, framed art and photographs, a week in a vacation home or timeshare, services (such as personal training, cosmetic, lawn or cleaning services), athletic memorabilia, autographed items (books, etc.), and home/handcrafted items.
Please consider donating an item! If you cannot personally donate, we ask that you solicit a donation from your personal or professional network. Everything you need to know is in the documents here – click on the links for details – thank you!
