General Responsibilities of the Educational Leadership Foundation Board of Trustees

  • Create and review a statement of mission and purpose that articulates the Foundation’s goals, means, and primary constituents served

  • Assist in developing the annual budget and ensure that proper financial controls are in place

  • Provide adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission

  • Ensure adherence to legal standards and ethical norms

  • Actively participate in an overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the plan’s goals

  • Recruit and orient new board members, assess and comprehensively evaluate board performance

  • Clearly articulate the Foundation’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garner support from the communities served by the Foundation

  • Determine which programs are consistent with the Foundation’s mission and monitor their effectiveness
